The Democrats have a plan

Today on the Situation Room with Wolf Blitzer I heard Howard Dean discussing the Democrats plans for Iraq, Immigration Reform, Health Care, Jobs, and Energy just to mention a few. When prompted he pointed out the failures of Bush and the republican controlled congress ranging from the lies that led us into an illegal war, to a botched Medicare prescription drug program, fewer jobs and skyrocketing energy costs, along with no real health care for millions of Americans.

Donna Brazelle and Tori Clarke (former Pentagon Spokesperson) weighed in on Dean's comments. Clarke implied that Dean's attacks on the republican party would actually help the republicans. She said that the American people don't like it when one party attack's the other.

Give me a break.

First of all Howard Dean was not attacking the republican party. The republican party has been attacking the American people for at least 8 years now. The republican party is on an 6 year run on an all out assault on the constitution, the middle class and anyone and everyone in the world who does not look like, sound like, think like and move like they do.

The pot and the kettle are both black.

The Democrats will not let the republicans get by with their game of accusing their enemy of being them. The American people know who got us into all of these messes and it doesn't take Howard Dean to point it out to them.

The American people know when enough is enough. We more liberal citizens are not mad. We are engaged and empowered to take back our country from those who are not smart enough to protect it, us or anyone else in the world.

My Brother-in-law is a Marine

A couple of days ago my brother-in-law and sister delivered a Pepsi machine to me here at my business. He is a marine and has been on inactive duty, the guard for the past 10 years since his four year active enlistment ended. He was in the first Gulf War with Iraq, went to Kosovo a couple of times for more than one year most recently as 2004. After Hurricane Katrina he spent several months in Louisiana with the Indiana National guard.

I love my sister dearly. I love her entire family. They are my family. I have seen the sacrifices she and her family have made over the years. He has a strong since of duty and a loyal relationship with God. They both do. He and they are American hero's. It is people like him and her and their children that defend our freedoms and way of life. Whether just a job or a calling the benefactors of their commitment is us American citizens.

I hope and I pray that we American citizens fight to hold onto the democracy they have helped keep alive up until now.

I hope and I pray that we American citizens will remember how important it is to show respect to them, our soldiers, our hero's by continuing to fight for the civil liberties that our fore fathers helped to grant us.

I hope and I pray that we American citizens wake up and realize that we have been scared to death. We have been "feared" to death. We have lost sight of the value of the freedoms that our soldiers risk their lives for on a daily basis. We must protect our constitution as if we have nothing more important to us in the world not even our own lives.

Now is not the time for complacency.
Now is the time for engagement.
Now is the time for hope.
Now is the time for new beginnings.

As we celebrate our freedom with fireworks let's also celebrate our democracy and inspire family, friends and strangers alike to vote Democrat in the mid term elections November 2006 to bring back some checks and balances to our government.

We the people, not Democrats or republicans but
We the people must unite on the common ground of freedom to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.

We can make it happen by voting Democrat in the mid term elections!
